Master the Styling of a Maxi Dress

Don’t you just love maxi dresses? It doesn’t matter what the season is, it is so easy to add layers over as well as to put some underneath, making it the ultimate transitional piece for any kind of weather - from super chilly to sunny summer days. There is some very ladylike feeling in the way a hemline of long dress gently sways around your legs.

The maxi dress is not only the most comfortable and flattering garment, but it is very versatile too. From dressed up and sophisticated, to a little bit funky; work appropriate to playful weekend combinations, we are selecting different ways of styling your favorite maxi dress.

Beige Maxi Dress
Boho can be elegant too! It is true that maxi dresses may not harmonize that well with petite silhouettes and can really make you look shorter, but you can never go wrong if you choose the right style and a color that is similar to your skin tone. A fine-cut maxi dress in beige will elongate your petite body frame and will make you look taller and leaner. For some extra height, wear simple pumps in the same color. The length of a maxi dress speaks for itself - so you need a pair of shoes that will help bring the dress into the spotlight. Play with the accessories by choosing bold jewelry like classy long earrings or diamond rings.
Purple Maxi Dress

A romantic maxi dress in light pink or purple color is always a great choice. Simple earth-toned hues always keep the focus on your dress' silhouette. Combine it with nude or beige high heeled sandals and bold, elegant clutch.

You can also style it with a white, sheer cardigan and top it off with neutral makeup and loose, wavy, natural looking hair curls. Add a statement necklace with little extra sparkle for an evening night out.

Black Maxi Dress

For those who prefer darker colors, try pairing a black maxi dress with cute black ankle boots great for fall weather. For adding a little toughness, a vest is a perfect match to solid color maxi dresses, adding a hint of classic chic. For an elegant extravagance add a black hat and bold burgundy lipstick.

Black Lace Maxi Dress

A black lace maxi dress can look very chic when paired with a long sleeveless patterned coat. Tall black leather boots will make this cozy chic fall look even more fabulous. A classic trench coat can also do it, but if you are more on the rock-chic diva side, then you can definitely add your favorite black leather biker jacket instead.

Colorful Maxi Dress

Try a funky and playful ensemble by combining a colorful maxi dress and a scarf with the similar hues from the dress, together with a belt to edge it up a bit. Most long dresses have a looser fit and might make you look a little bit boxy. You can always solve that by adding a belt wrapped around your waist, right below your bust or accentuating the thinnest part of your waistline. Skinny belts usually look better on thinner figures, but if you're of a medium built you can pull off a double skinny one as well. You can also try wrapping the belt around the scarf, adding an extra cool touch to the whole story.
